MSG Causing Obesity

Mono sodium glutamate (MSG) is causing obesity.
This is the title catch much attention these days. I thought I would take a deeper look into what MSG is, why it is bad for you, what are the names are and where to find you.

So what is MSG?
Mono sodium glutamate is a concentrated form of the amine salt glutamine, which is used to improve the taste acid. This is an amino acid that the body produces naturally. The natural form of MSG is very good for the body. But what we find so often in packaged foods purchased or is derived from highly processed sugar extracted from sugar beets. This form of MSG is a "free glutamate" that made their neurotransmitters.

So why is MSG made bad?
Why MSG can play an important role in the obesity epidemic is that tricks the tongue into thinking there are proteins. This identity theft, said the spirit as food is good for your body by stimulating neurotransmitters. The problem is that these neurotransmitters are used by other parts of your body. The most disturbing here is that MSG stimulates the production of insulin, the hormone that makes you fat. The insulin production is a natural and healthy reaction when carbohydrates. The problem is that the natural link is cut with artificial additives.

Recent reports that MSG is causing obesity is not the first bit of flavor enhancer has been fire. For some time, the food industry has taken heat causes reactions, including:

Eruptions
Migraines
Nausea
Trough
Headaches

What are the names of MSG?
A rose by any other name may smell as sweet, but MSG produced by any other name is just as harmful. Given the nature of extremely low-cost high performance free glutamate is profitable for the food industry. If your business is to look at the bottom line would not be willing to let an ingredient that can transform cheap food and poor quality icons strongly encouraged. Therefore have invented many nicknames by which the MSG can hide. Here are a few:

Yeast extract
Maltodextrin
Sodium caseinate

What foods contain MSG?
When looking out for MSG, by any name, it is useful to know the usual meeting places. Fast food and chain, sauces, powder packets, dry mixes, ranch dressing, smoked meats and hot dogs are all common foods that contain the flavor enhancer. I know this is easier said than done, but when it comes to avoid MSG or healthy eating in general, it is best to prepare food at home and with as few ingredients processed as possible. Some of the most popular companies (there are only so many to list them all) that include MSG in their products:

McDonald (use other products of free glutamate)
Burger King
KFC
Taco Bell
Doritos
Planters nuts
Applebees

Sensitivity to MSG seems well founded. Scientific experiments to study obesity often involve the MSG-induced obesity in mice for the simple reason that they know works. If you are looking to eat clean if you want to lose weight or just feel better, start by cutting MSG. The old adage "you are what you eat" is true, if you feel good, you need to eat well, live fit, stay in shape.
